Drop forgings
The forging process is of course completely different from the casting process. With forging, the steel is preheated in a furnace to a point at which it can be easily plastically deformed. It is then pressed into a steel die which has an upper and a lower half. Deep cavities are not possible using this process which is of course a major limitation compared to casting.
However, a large advantage of forging compared to casting is the cost. Forging is a lot cheaper than casting steel, another advantage being that the material can remain weldable.

We supply forgings from 20 grams up to approximately 30kgs unit weight.
